Kia Carnival

If even the seven-seat Kia Sorento isn’t quite big enough for your needs, how about the Kia Carnival? This prodigious people mover goes one better, making room for eight travellers. That’s not to say that this MPV stints on space, comfort or versatility, though – quite the opposite, in fact. Of course, with a vehicle that can accommodate so many people, it’s important that it’s very safe – which is where the Carnival’s maximum five-star ANCAP crash-test rating comes in.

Discover the new Kia Carnival How do you get eight people on board an MPV without incident? Simple, you choose the Kia Carnival, which features sliding rear doors that make it easy to get in and out – whether you’re destined to sit in row one, two or three. Helpfully, the middle row of seats slide and recline (and collapse, if necessary), ensuring that access is all the more straightforward. In terms of seating, rows one and two comfortably accommodate five adults, while the rearmost row is perfect for conveying a trio of younger travellers.
Big boot Even with all seats in place, the Carnival’s luggage capacity stands at an impressive 960 litres. With the back row folded, 2,220 litres of volume becomes available. With all but the front seats dropped, load space increases to a massive 4,022 litres. Rows two and three are split-folding too, which allows you to adjust the vehicle’s passenger/cargo ratio as you see fit.
Stay cool Entry-point S grades feature dual-zone air-conditioning in the front and rear, as well as air vents that are provided for passengers in rows two and three. The vehicle also features power-operated windows in the first two rows. To enjoy even greater climate control, upgrade to next-level Si trims, which possess three-zone air-conditioning that can also be operated by occupants in the back.
Audio for all A four-speaker sound system (or eight speakers with Si grades and above) should provide more than enough ways to keep your co-passengers entertained. If there’s nothing to listen to on the radio, you can always stream audio content via Bluetooth: family-favourite tunes, an engrossing audio drama or a lively podcast, for instance.
